Grassfield High -- Fiddle Fire

All 12 Fiddle Fire soloists, with Bose L1s behind them, showing drums, keyboard, two electric guitars, and the bass player's knee (only!).

Recently, Blaise Kielar of Electric Violin Shop helped a high school orchestra director fulfill a long-held dream of staging a large electric violin ensemble performance, complete with a rock band.

Two Bose L1® portable line array systems provided all the sound, both for the performers and the audience. There were no instrument amplifiers or monitor speakers.

The Bose towers were positioned so the players could hear themselves, and to project the sound out to the audience. The concert was in an outdoor courtyard, yet even listeners in the back of the audience commented on the clarity of the sound.

At the mixer (from left): Curtis Key (arranger and producer), Steve Vutsinas (Conductor), Mike Goodman (sound engineer), Blaise Kielar (sound technician and Bose-ist). In the background left is the student who was running the video and PowerPoint projections.
