Cases
We also carry a full line of instrument cases to protect your electric violin investment. From basic lightweight polystyrene cases to Bobelock's exceptional fiberglass cases in bright primary and pastel colors, we have something to fit every budget, and to match every instrument.
Good
Our entry-level dart-shaped polystyrene case is $45. It gives basic protection for shipping, and is fine for daily use.
The next step up is the ProTec Max case, at $50. Similar to our basic case, but the quality is a good bit more consistent. It has a nicer interior, and provides a little more protection for the instrument.
Our best under-$100 case is Bobelock's shaped wood violin case. Plywood shell construction offers a great deal of protection, and legendary Bobelock quality and attention to detail ensure a case that will hold up over time. It's also very compact, so you should have no problem carrying your instrument on most domestic flights; this case will stow easily in the overhead compartment of almost any size airplane.
Better
Bobelock's least-expensive case in the popular half-moon shape has many of the features present in their top-of-the-line Fiberglass Half-Moon Violin Case, but in a plywood-shell case with a black cloth cover.
Our under-$200 category also includes a couple of nice cases from Howard Core. Their polystyrene-core Double Violin Case is one of the least-expensive double cases we've ever seen, and among the lightest, as well. Great for players who'd like to keep their acoustic and electric instruments in a single case, for convenience.
At $180, their Oblong Violin Case is a beautiful case with a great set of features for the money, available in two colors, with matching or contrasting interiors. If you need extra protection in a heavy-duty case, go with their Oblong Wood case at $189.
Best
Our very best (and most popular!) cases are the brightly-colored fiberglass cases made by Bobelock . Available in a wide range of primary colors and pastels, these cases are sturdy, attractive, and manufactured with an incredible amount of attention given to even the smallest detail. The interior is beautifully finished with a variety of luxurious materials, inner case pockets open with piano hinges, and the overlapping seal makes the case weatherproof (within reason -- do not use as a flotation device, or submerge in water). Available in the popular half-moon shape, for $225, or try the larger oblong fiberglass case (more room for sheet music and stuff!) for $250.
