Vector Prodigy 5 string Violin, maple
|
The Vector Prodigy is hand made of beautiful curly maple for the top and neck, and walnut for the spine and shoulder pad crescent. This is NOT a commercial product - it is hand-crafted by a caring maker (which makes the price VERY attractive). Chin rest and pegs are a fine grade of ebony. The 1/4 inch jack is centrally located, so you can send it over your left shoulder or let in dangle under your bow arm. Although the maker recommends using a preamp with this violin, we think it sounds great with the amps recommended below. This Prodigy is the original finish -- an amber transparent stain over the maple, with the lower bout and central spine in walnut. We now order all of ours with a volume control built-in -- it adds a bit to the price, but it's so convenient that it's really worth it. News!! Nick Tipney at Vector has a segment on Discovery's popular "How It's Made"! Check out Electric Violin (How It's Made) on YouTube. Video features both the standard maple and walnut instrument and the teal and black version that EVS first suggested. Both colors in-stock. Need "silent" practice capability? Add a multi-effect processor, and you can practice through headphones, with or without effects.
