Music Explorium
http://www.musicexplorium.com/
Music Explorium was opened in Carrboro, North Carolina, to retail exotic, creative and unusual strings, winds, electronics and hand percussion, and to host workshops designed to inspire the musical adventurer. Response from the community inspired Blaise and his wife Cathy to study drum circle facilitation with Arthur Hull. Their regular rhythm circles offer folks of all ages and abilities a forum to jam together, creating their own magical rhythmic world every time! There is a schedule of rhythm events on the Music Explorium website.
String Project Los Angeles
http://www.stringprojectla.com/
String Project Los Angeles is Americas newest and most innovative string school. The school blends alternative styles and the study of improvisation with teaching traditional repertoire in creative ways.
Electric Violin Shop is proud to announce our relationship with String Project Los Angeles. Cellist Jacob Szekely and violinist Robert Anderson have a love for electric strings, a commitment to both teaching and performing, and a curiosity about gear for amplifying the violin family. Electric Violin Shop will provide samples of gear for display in their Beverly Hills studio. Purchases will be made through Electric Violin Shop, and will be shipped direct to the player.
Despite our willingness to spend lots of time on the phone helping players choose what they need, there is no substitute for hands-on demos! Finally for the first time string players on the West Coast will have a viable resource to go and try out/compare different products for amplified strings, while consulting with experts whove done the same.
