Inexpensive doesn't have to mean cheap -- our entry-level acoustic-electric violin will make you sound like you spent more than you did!
The varnish color and back construction (1 or 2 piece) will vary on these instruments, based on us finding really excellent student-level violins that produce a strong, open tone without much effort. We then fit them with a Barcus-Berry transducer bridge and the Schatten Designs output jack with built-involume control.
This instrument makes a great choice for your first foray into amplified playing. The acoustic tone is better than you'd expect from a $400 fiddle, and amplified it sounds way better than any of the painted acoustic-electrics, rivaling some of its more expensive competitors.
Keep some of the nuance of your acoustic instrument, but gain the ability to be hard even in louder amplified settings.
