Unlike taking a 4 string and making it into a 5 string violin, this instrument was designed as a 5 string. It has great action due to a well spaced nut and nicely curved bridge, and generous peg spacing so it is easy to turn even the inner pegs. Tone is natural and strong with the Schatten transducer bridge. A volume control is built into the 1/4 inch output jack.
