This aptly-named acoustic electric violin has an enlarged bass side for deeper tone, and a bump-resistant edge made of a black polymer. It is a hybrid - it converts to 4 or 5 strings. The tone is very rich and true, acoustically and amplified, which is unusual when the body shape is not a classical model. It feels like a normal violin under the fingers. The anti-mute bridge allows you to remove wings from the bridge, lightening the mass, and raising the volume and penetration of the tone. A tremolo chinrest allows you to emulate a whammy bar on a guitar - use your arm to raise the pitch, which works best while strumming with the violin under your arm, not at your neck.
