ZETA

One of the most revered names in the electric violin world, Zeta Music Systems was founded in the late 1970's by Keith McMillen and Richard McClish. By the mid-1980's jazz fusion violinist Jean Luc Ponty made the Zeta brand world famous and the 'Jazz Fusion' model iconic.

ZETA briefly shut down in 2010 but was acquired by musical instrument industry veteran Steve Carlson in 2012, reopened, and is now better than ever at delivering top quality instruments!

Mr. Carlson, the owner of Zeta Music Systems, has a 30+ year career in the musical instrument manufacturing industry and even has existing ties to Zeta! He origianlly founded Flatiron Mandolins, a brand which he eventually sold to Gibson before then founding his own engineering firm. At one point in time his firm was hired by Zeta to handle the CNC programming for all of their violins, violas, cellos and basses. Fast forward to 2012 and Mr. Carlson along with Dennis Balian purchased all assets of Zeta Music Systems Corporation and relocated it to Bozeman, Montana, where the company now resides.

Carlson has brought the manufacturing off all instrument body parts and bridge pickup components in house in order to oversee quality control and ensure reliability. The new Zeta Music Systems is very well staffed and able to keep up production to meet demand.
