L.R. Baggs VIO violin pickup external jack mount (not soldered)
The Baggs bridge is among the best-known pickup systems for acoustic violins. This item includes a loose Carpenter-style jack that is not soldered to the output lead of the unterminated Baggs bridge. For an additional charge, we can solder the lead from the bridge to the output jack.
Many top gigging professionals use L.R. Baggs piezo bridges to amplify their acoustic violins. Following one of the more common solutions for designs of this type, the piezoelectric crystal is embedded in a standard Despiau violin bridge blank. This produces strong, natural tone, that can be a bit bright, but doesn't overly color your instrument's sound. If it's paired with the wrong amplifier, a Baggs bridge can sometimes be a bit harsh on the high end, but this can be alleviated with a good preamp, such as their own Para Acoustic D.I. This item includes a loose Carpenter-style jack from L.R. Baggs that is not soldered to the output lead of the unterminated Baggs bridge. For an additional charge, we can solder the lead from the bridge to the output jack. Please note that this bridge requires fitting to the instrument by a qualified luthier.
