DigiTech's Element XP multi-effects processor raises the bar on "entry-level", with 100 factory sounds and 100 user-definable tones, in a solidly built unit that's a great bang for your buck. From reverb, delay, and chorus to raging distortion and overdrive effects, the Element XP has all that you need, including an expression pedal allows you to control volume or effects, an auxiliary input for your CD or MP3 player, and a headphone jack for "silent" practice.
The least-expensive multieffects processor DigiTech makes that includes an expression pedal (a necessity for manual control of volume, wah, and other effects), the Element XP is an excellent value for the money. A simplified layout makes the Element XP easier to use than earlier models at this level. The Tone Bank holds your Wah, Compression, Amp.Distortion, EQ, and Gate, while the FX Bank controls Modulation effects, Delay, and Reverb, as well as the pedal assign for the expression pedal. With 58 effects to choose from, 100 factory presets and 100 user-definable presets,and 45 drum tracks to play along with, you could spend months just trying everything out! From milder "acoustic" effects, such as reverb, delay, and chorus, to cry-baby-style wah, distortion, and overdrive, the Element XP gives violin family players nearly any electric guitar sound they've ever heard.
