Glasser
Glasser offers two amazing acoustic-electric violin values, both available in 4 or 5-strings with numerous colorful finish options.
The AE finish uses a dye coat over the carbon fiber weave, showcasing the distinctive carbon fiber look. By contrast, the AEX version uses a different paint/dye coating system to provide a distinctive, slightly pearlescent color to the body of the instrument.
The AE model features a maple bridge and sound post, while the AEX model has carbon fiber bridge and sound post. The result difference between finishing methods and bridge/post materials is that the AE has a somewhat more complex tone. The difference is a little more apparent acoustically than plugged in. Both have the same pickup system, preamp, and electronics by Bartolini, which are cleverly integrated into the Glasser Swordtail active chinrest system.
